Yesterday I talked a little bit about my business model for Livermore Rocks! As you can see, being a website about a specific city, local advertisers will be critical to its success. In order to gain advertisers, I need to gain readers. In order to gain reader, I have to make a kick-ass website that’s fun, exciting and draws people to come back and visit over and over again. It needs personality.
So I have two types of customers really. The reader is on the front end, while advertisers are on the back-end. My mission is to bring the two together in a way that adds value to both sides.
The front end is where I get to discover Livermore and share it using my unique personality. With all the cool stuff in the world, it’s amazing how many people don’t explore their own back yard. Take Alcatraz for example. It’s amazing how many people who live in the Bay Area have never been to Alcatraz. It’s like the most famous prison in the world. Heck, I didn’t even visit will my mid 20’s. It’s a place you’ll never forget.
In addition to shearing my local discoveries and adventures, I want to bring interesting and useful things to the readers. People live, work and shop here. This is where the back-end comes in. With the advertising piece, I don’t want to just put up generic ads and call it a night. I want to make those ads useful to the readers by giving business a place to offer coupons and advertise their specials and such. It has to be something that provides value to readers. Anything that doesn’t goes against its mission.
That’s a little insight into my business model for Livermore Rocks! I do have other models for other business ideas where I use affiliate marketing and other models. Livermore Rocks! was actually a spur of the moment idea that started because I moved here and wanted to share cool stuff…
…and sharing cool stuff is what my personality is all about!
